Help! Mac mail is nonsensical for me

Hi,

Is there any way to get back to a passive spell check system?

The filing system is beyond my understanding and I am looking for something like mail once was.

You can turn spellchecking on or off just as before.

In Edit->Spelling and Grammar, uncheck "Correct Spelling Automatically".
