Windows phone is not recognised by my Mac Book Pro

Hello,

I tried several solutions to this problem yesterday and none of them worked. When I plug in my windows phone, it bleeps as it connects and it charges so the cable and connection are fine. After it didn't appear anywhere on my Mac I went into Finder > preferences and made sure all boxes are ticket in order to show external disks on the desktop. No change. Afterwards I downloaded a programme called Windows Phone 7 connector which run fine until it said now plug in your device. I plugged my phone in again and no recognition of it. I then looked into About this Mac > System report > USB and there it did show that my phone was plugged in!

So, I am really stuck and hope someone of you lovely, knowledged people can help me. I am desperate to get it working as I need to start using Instagram for my photography business and have no other way of getting pictures on my phone. Or is there a really intelligent, simple way I don't know of?
