just upgraded my ipad air2 to ios11. Now my ime...

How can I change the imessage screen layout so that when i type a message, the message window is full screen?  Currently i have contacts on left side of the screen and the message appearing on right hand side.

Is there a way to shrink the contact pane so that its hidden until you need to select another contact?

Messenger can open messages full screen as it has the little blue ”extend” arrow showing. Imessage doesnt appear to have this?  Any ideas ? Thanks.

I don’t think there is a way to shrink the contacts section in iMessage. 

If you need larger print you can go to Settings,  Accessibility, then turn on Larger Text.

This will increase the text size, making it easier to read, but it won’t effect the contacts section.
