Problems With OSX HS

Hi,

Since upgrading my mid 2012 MBP to HS I am having a lot of issues with starting up and with having the computer remain on when I close the lid of my MBP. When the lid is closed for some period of time then when I open the lid back on the system has already shut down and I have to restart it. And many times restart ends on a black screen that apparently requires the enter key to be pressed for the login screen to appear.

And the chime of startup has gone down in volume so much that it is hardly perceptible.

Is there anything that I can do to fix these issues?
