Sharing between computers

I access files from my time capsule on multiple computers. How can I make a shortcut on each desktop to a file? I created an alias  and put the alias on the desktops, but the alias aren't updated automatically on the other computers when something is added. I have to open the time capsule files again to access the new files.

I was just wanting a quick access to one specific file, like an external usb hard drive would work.
