iTunes fails to start after latest update

iTunes fails to start after latest update to version 12.7.0.166. I suspect there is some problem with the (online?) library but I cannot find a solution. It tries to start and crashes.

 

I have tried to re-install (repair) the program, to replace the library with a previous version, to start in safe mode, but no use. When I disable my internet connection it opens but crashes again as soon as I enable the connection back.

 

Any help please?
