Yamaha Midi drivers not recognising keyboard

Hi everyone!

I've been trying to get my Digital Piano to show up in the Yamaha USB Midi control panel but it just doesn't show up.

I have the latest driver and OS. Also the piano shows up in the Audio midi setup.

Can anyone help? Thanks

Question: Do either Logic or Garageband pickup MIDI input from your piano?

Yes they do but my pedal act funny.. when i press it all the way down it cuts off.

For a little while when I installed the Yamaha drivers it was working fine till i restarted my computer.

Any idea how to get it to take precedence?

Cheers

Ro

Sounds like a controller issue, like Logic has picked up your keyboard and mis-assigned a controller profile.

Before following the steps below, try this. With the computer on, unplug the Keyboard's USB connection and the Mac's  USB port. Make sure the sustain pedal is plugged into the keyboard then plug the Yamaha's USB connector back into the same USB port. Does that fix the sustain problem?

If not- see below.

Here's the instructions to delete Logic's Preferences and Control Surface file.

You only need to delete the Control Surface (.cs) file.

In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder from the menu.

Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field. (exactly as you see it)     ~/Library/Preferences

Press the Go button.

Remove the  com.apple.logic10.plist  file from the Preferences folder. Note that if you have programmed any custom key commands, this will reset them to the defaults. You may wish to export your custom key command as a preset before performing this step. See the Logic Pro User Manual for details on how to do this. If you are having trouble with a control surface in Logic Pro, then delete the com.apple.logic.pro.cs file from the preferences folder.

do not delete preferences

p.s. I don't know if you're going to have any luck with the Yamaha USB driver in Sierra.

What happens if you check "old style port name"?

Hi everyone! I have the same problem where my Digital Piano doesn't show up in the Yamaha USB Midi control panel, but nor does Logic or Garageband pickup MIDI input from the piano...

checking "old style port name" didn't do much difference...

anyone help? thanks!!
