Help! Computer too slow
Hello,
My macbook pro is being very slow. It is slow to open apps and frequently becomes unresponsive. I bought this in 2010, Macbook pro 13 inch.
Current software version 10.9.5.
Processor 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
Memory 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Several problems.
1. Use the "Remove" in Etrecheck to remove the adware.
2. Uninstall CleanMyMac as per developer's instructions. This is practically malware and has borked many Macs.
3. Uninstall mcafee. No anti-virus or so-called "cleaning" apps are necessary or recommended for Mac OS. They can interfere with your Mac's own built-in security. At best they use unnecessary resources and slow your system, At worst, they can cripple your Mac.
After that, post another Etrecheck report.
Go through the list and click "Remove/Report" and "Cleanup" buttons.
Use the original EtreCheck report on your Mac.
Uninstall CleanMyMac3 and Mcafee software according to application vendors uninstall instructions.
