Home scaring from mac to apple tv2s

Hi, I hope someone can help.I have a mac running Sierra and 2 apple tvs. Until a few weeks ago all home scaring worked great. We have great internet speed and have series on our mac that i watch on both apple tvs (one in bedroom and one in lounge). But a few weeks ago it started getting really slow to load - take about 10 mins to even load the library. I have done all the trouble shooting i can find but have hit a wall. I did a test about ports being open and I believe the one that should be open for home sharing is not but don't know how to change this? Could this be the issue?  any advice would be greatly appreciated.
