Timemachine

If multiple users are using a time capsule or a network attached storage disk how do you prevent them from mounting or restoring someone else's backup? Most of the machines creating the backups are on a mix of El Capitan, Sierra and high Sierra. It's definitely a security risk. I can only think of 3 things that may prevent this. First if the original disk is encrypted with Filevault and a password. Secondly the target disk is encrypted. Third the time capsule or NAS has user accounts created which in theory should only allow the user that created the backup to mount it.

Thanks in advance.
