i have a 27-inch mac Retina 5k Display

3.2Ghz quad core intel Core i5 with 6mb L3 Cache.

My Mac literally turns on then automatically turns off after a couple seconds, ive tried to take out the power plug but literally nothing works.

Oh, only a couple of seconds? That's a bit different from randomly shuts down.

Will it start in Safe Mode?

This didnt work, if i hold the shift key to get it to start up in safe mode, it doesnt even start up, it loads for abit then the screen just goes black and it shutsdown again. What happens is, i get to the login section, type in my password, then i use the computer for a couple of minutes/seconds then it just shuts down again. Could this be a problem with the power plug?

Wonder if you may be able to offer a suggestion to a problem I am having - My mac just randomly shuts down. I then cannot re boot from the on button. I have to disconnect the power supply and re connect then the imac will start up agin. sometimes it stays on for hours and hours even days if playing music. Others, it turns off minutes after booting up. completely random. But it will only reboot after the power disconnection and reconnection. I have tried other mac leads and all the same even different power source too. all's good up to the imack. Would you have any suggestions as to what may cause this. What is worrying is that there seem to be lots of people having the same trouble.
