Regarding the activation lock

Hello guys I just wanted to know something.

I want to sell my old iphone but when I restored using itunes it said it was locked and I needed to unlock using the apple id. The apple id connected with the activation lock was my old apple id which i no longer have access to, I have tried recovering it but I also don't have access to the email linked. I was just wondering if Apple or the retailer I bought it off (Vodafone) could remove or bypass the lock.

P.S I have proof of purchase such as the documents used when I bought it and I believe I still have the receipt
