Hey there,

I have a mid 2012 MacBook - this morning I dropped something on it, so the LCD display broke. I have an older model as well (mid 2010), and I'm wondering if I can use the LCD display from that one on my current MacBook? LCD specs is a bit different from each other when I look it up in "about this mac", but since screensize and body is the same, I might be able to replace it? Can anyone tell before I try?

Kind Regards,

Oskar

Hi,

I believe you must be talking about a 13" MacBook Pro, and not a MacBook?

No, the two are not interchangeable, as evidenced by the compatibility listed on ifixit.com (Mid 2009 and Mid 2010 are compatible, but Mid 2012 only fits Mid 2012): MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2009/Mid 2010) Display Assembly (661-5232) A-Stock - iFixit and MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2012) Display Assembly (661-6594) A-Stock - iFixit
