Imessage problem

I changed my sim card a few months ago, but my registered imessage number is still the old one. I’ve already changed my number in my apple account and changed my password as well, but has no progress at all. Twas still the same

Hi, Menchi23,

Thanks for stopping by teh Apple Support Communities. From your post, I understand that you changed the phone number being used in your iPhone about a month ago, but your old number is still showing as registered with iMessage. I'm happy to help!

First, sign out of iMessage and turn it off. Head into Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and tap your Apple ID at the top, then choose Sign Out. Head back to Settings > Messages, and turn the iMessage toggle off at the top. Then, follow the steps below from Deregister iMessage on your iPhone or online - Apple Support:

Deregister iMessage online

If you don't have access to your iPhone, you can deregister iMessage online. After you complete deregistration, your phone number is removed from iMessage services. You should be able to receive text messages right away but it might take a few hours for some Apple devices to recognize that you're not using iMessage when they send you a message.

If someone sends an iMessage to your Apple ID, you'll get it on your other Apple devices. If someone sends a text to your phone number, you'll get the message only on your phone.

Then, restart your iPhone as described here: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. After restarting, head back to Settings > Messages, turn the iMessage toggle switch back on and then tap Send & Receive to sign back into your Apple ID.

Cheers!
