mediaanalysisd causing issues

Following the update of my MBP today to the 10.13 High Sierra supplemental update, I began having problems.  When using my laptop all is fine.  When I walk away and there is no interaction with the laptop for approximately 10 minutes, a process named mediaanalysisd is started.  This is using about 130% of the processor, and switches the GPU from the integrated to the discrete chip.  Of course, this uses a LOT of battery and gets the laptop processor up to 195 degrees thereby getting the fans up to high speed using more battery.  Anyone else notice this behavior?  I found all this detail using iStat Menus.  As soon as I touch any input on this machine, the process is terminated, the processor drops to 2%, the GPU switches to the integrated, the machine start to cool and the fans eventually slow.  This happens repeatedly.  Do I now have to sleep the machine every time I walk away to save the battery?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It may be caused by certain video files causing mediaanalysisd to use excessive CPU. Some users have said removing videos from the photos library helped, others that videos from particular cameras had caused the problem.

Thanks for the reply.  The only videos I have on here in the photo library are from my iPhone and I don't really want to lose them.  I also find it interesting that the problem never surfaced until I applied the supplemental update.  With what Apple said they were updating in that, I find it strange that there was any impact at all on mediaanalysisd.  I did a full backup before I applied the update to High Sierra, but now I really wish I'd done a backup before applying this supplemental!  Again, thanks for the reply!
