Mac OSX Connection To Windows File Share Issues

Working with a handful of iMacs from 2010 to 2015, running a variety of OS's (Mavericks to Sierra).  They are connecting to two Windows file servers using smb://servername format.  The Windows Servers are running 2003 and 2012R2.  I am getting a few symptoms:

- Finder takes 20+ seconds to populate items on the share.

- File copies run much much slower between Mac and Windows share.  We are seeing transfer speeds much lower (closer to 10Mbps) than our gig network.

- Finder shows duplicate files/folders when connecting to shares.

- Periodically get permission errors when connecting to a share.

A few things:

- Audit logging has been set up on the file servers.  There are no audit failures for the shares.

- Non-Mac clients have no issues connecting to shares.  None of the symptoms manifest.

- Perfmon is running on the file servers.  No resource related issues (CPU, RAM, IOPS) are logged.

- Wireshark captures show no TCP re-transmits or items indicating a drop when running on the Servers.

Steps I've taken:

- Cleared application cache.

- Deleted the Finder plist files to reset preferences.

- Disabled signing for SMB on the Mac with "printf "[default]\nsigning_required=no\n" | sudo tee /etc/nsmb.conf >/dev/null"

Looking for suggestions.
