Having 2 iPads

Hello. I recently purchased a new iPad but I also have an older one. im thinking I don't want all the apps and other information that are on my older iPad to transfer to the newer one. Can I do that or will everything go on the new iPad when I add that to my account? Thanks !!

You will only get all of your old iPad's content (apps, music etc.) on the new iPad if you restore a backup of the old iPad onto the new one. For content such as contacts, calendars, safari bookmarks, whether they copy onto the new iPad will depend upon whether you use the same account on the new iPad and if you have those options enabled on it.

Do you mean the same Apple account for the contacts, calendars and safari bookmarks? How would I  use a different account? How do I make sure I don't restore a backup of my old iPad to my new one? Thanks for the information,I appreciate it !!
