Grey box on MacBook Pro Screen

There is a small grey box on my Mac Book Pro screen and I am not sure what it means or how to get rid of it - You can only see it when the screen is black. Can someone please help me? Thanks!

Without more information, anything we might say would be a guess at best, and probably a wild guess.  Can you post a screenshot?  (Note that if the box doesn't show up on a screenshot, it's a hardware issue with the screen.)

How do you take a screen shot and then post? I am still learning how to use my new Macbook...

You can do a shot of the whole screen with command-shift-3, or just a part of the screen with command-shift-4.  The result is a file on the desktop that can be attached using the camera icon in the toolbar of the editor on these forums:

You say it is only visible when the screen is black, turned off, correct?

Is there a light behind the screen?

Then try covering up the Apple Logo on the outside of the screen cover. Is the grey box gone?

This problem is still around, as I have had it for a month or so. It has moved a couple of times, but it blocks bits of my screen when I'm typing and I have to move around it. Here is what it looks like:
