iMessage and Password problems after upgrade to...

I upgraded to High Sierra this weekend.  The install went fine, but iMessages on my iMac started sending messages from my iCloud email rather than my phone number, as it did before the upgrade.  I've tried to figure out how to get my phone number added, but it only offers adding additional email addresses.  That's my number one problem.  I've also experienced my passwords not working -- passwords that were used before the update successfully.  I have no idea why that would happen. I'm tempted to go back to Sierra, but I'd rather not if someone can help me!
