Soloing a track interrupts auxiliary headset sends

Hi all,

We are using a Focusrite Saffire interface with two configurable headphone jacks in a 5.1 studio.

In the Focusrite routing software we have set the DAW 1-2 to out 7-8, which drives the first headphone, but DAW 9-10 to the Focusrite out 9-10, which drives the second pair of headsets. We do this so that we can quickly and easily (for students) create at least 1 headphone monitor using an auxiliary send with the second headset out, or (for more advanced students) two mono headphone sends using the 9 and 10 output on the back of the interface.

In Logic Pro we then set up an auxiliary bus, select pre-fader, which creates and auxiliary track. We set the output of that track to 9-10, so that it feeds the second headset jack for a headset mix (or two aux sends, their outputs to 9 and 10 respectively). Note that the aux send is pre-fader, so the main mix does not affect the headset mix.

All good so far. We can dial up a headphone mix independent of our main mix.

The problem, and the question.

When we solo any track in the main mix, it mutes all other tracks, as it should, but it also mutes the auxiliary track output to 9-10. Shouldn't the auxiliary send, which is post fader, also be "post-solo", that is, soloing the track will not affect the send? Or is there a way to detach the auxiliary that is driving the headphone from the logic of the solo? Is there something we are missing in the setup? If so, what is the correct way to do an auxiliary headphone send?

Correction: "Shouldn't the auxiliary send, which is post fader, also be "post-solo" should read "which is pre-facer, also be pre-solo".
