Purchased movies lock up iTunes

I primarily purchase TV shows on iTunes, download them to my PC & then watch them on my PC. It always works properly. Occasionally, I rent a movie on iTunes, download it to my PC & then watch it on my PC. That also works properly. But, on very rare occasions, I actually purchase a movie to watch on my PC (typically if the movie is not yet available for rental). That is where I am experiencing this problem. When I attempt to watch the movie through iTunes, the initial menu pops up properly. The problem occurs when I click on the "Play" button. After I click the "Play" button, iTunes completely locks up, every time. I have rebooted the PC numerous times. I've updated iTunes. I've completely uninstalled iTunes, rebooted the PC & reinstalled iTunes. I've deleted the original download & downloaded the 1080p version of the movie again. I've even deleted the original download & downloaded the 720p version. No matter what I do, iTunes locks up every time I hit the "Play" button.

I'm running iTunes on a Windows 10 gaming laptop that runs an Intel i7-5700HQ CPU @ 2.70GHz with 32 GB RAM.
