New Update 11.1.5

Apple has just released update 11.1.5, has anyone experienced any difficulties with this update, as we did with 11.1.4

So far, no problems.

Which particular problems were you having with 11.1.4.62, VAZER? (If we knew that, we might be in a better position to tell you if they are still an issue with the new version.)

I am having difficulty, I can no longer connect my iPod Touch or my iPad mini using the USB connection.  I upgraded to iTunes 11.1.5.5 on Windows 8.1.

Did you directly update or did you remove the old files as was recommended for 11.1.4?  It is not clear to me if 11.1.5 fixes the missing dll file issue.

If iTunes 11.1.4 is working then iTunes 11.1.5. should update cleanly over it. It isn't yet clear if anything in the updater can repair a "broken" 11.1.4 installation, but it is perhaps unlikely.

Sorry, I didn't explain myself fully.   I went back to an older version of iTunes because I had the missing dll file problem and choose not to delete all the files as you recommended.  The older version works fine and I never did use/install 11.1.4

Well if the software engineers working on what happened with 11.1.4 have done their job properly then 11.1.5 from an older build should work perfectly. Since the problem was somewhat unpredictable in the first place I can't make any promises, but it would be useful to have a sacrificial lamb test subject that wasn't able to update to 11.1.4 originally try it out.

I'm from the right country for lamb ... do I count?

On an XP SP3 machine which was suffering the 11.1.4.62-related install trouble and related issues with the old installer build, I was able to update to 11.1.4.62 with the "new" installer build. The same machine updated to 11.1.5.5 from 11.1.4.62 with no fuss or bother, too.

More evidence that it is worth a shot anyway!

I'm in the same boat and am still running 11.1.3.8 because I want to know for sure that the new installer is fixed before I attempt to use it.

I upgraded a machine at work earlier directly from 11.1.3.8 to 11.1.5.5 without any problems, however I can't tell if it would have failed with the initial 11.1.4.62 installer so that isn't necessarily significant. You can give it a few days if you prefer. At least you now know how to roll back should the need arise.

Just updated to iTunes 11.1.5.5 and the Personal Hotspot function stoped working over USB. Works fine on WiFi.

Attempted to have windows update the driver

No driver found in what I understand to be the correct location.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers

Uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, no change.

iPhone USB Hotspot works on a second computer.

Any sugestions?

Just previous to this the updated iTunes also had trouble seeing the phone, this was corrected be updating the USB driver from the same driver folder.

ok, I was on a win 7 machine that was crashing when trying to install 11.4.1

I just installed 11.5.1 and it "appears" to have worked fine.

Thank You apple.. ignore all that cussing I did at you before :-)
