Moved iTunes to external hard drive, can't put ...

Per title, I have moved my iTunes media from my Computer hard drive to an external device.

I followed instructions from various articles posted online completing steps such as consolidating my iTunes library, changing my media location preference to the new folder with my library. I closed iTunes and opened it holding shift and chose the new location as my default for the library.

However now that I have started to download more music onto this hard drive and wish to put it in my library, anything I attempt to drag to iTunes or play through iTunes is unable to.

Any ideas on solutions to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Try Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.
