Can't connect to iCloud from system preferences.

I just purchased a new macbook pro that is running OS 10.7.4. When trying to set up my iCloud acount through system preferences i got an error message saying "You can not login at this time, please try again later." Later, it still didn't work. I can access the icloud website where info from my iphone is so i know neither the password nor the username is the issue. I even changed my password to apple's new standards and that did not work.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions about what i should do?

Try the following:

 

Navigate to Macintosh HD > library > preferences > system configuration and drag the 'Networkinterfaces.plist' file to the trash and restart the mac. Now try again.

Thank you for the suggestion, however this did not solve my problem either. I just noticed at the bottom of the error message it says "Unrecognized Apple ID or password" even though both are blatanly correct since i can log in to other apple programs using the same identification information.

Do you or any one else you now have another iCloud account you could try to log into.

I tried to make an account but even that was met only with a creating account message tht didn't go away for 2 hours. Later when I tried to login with the new account I got the same "cannot login, try again later" message.

I don't have any further suggestions for you, but I'm fairly sure now the problem is your side of the router.

Hi there. Found this fix in a different thread (which I can no longer find...)

 

Delete the iCloud folder in

Users>Your Username>Library>Application Support>iCloud

 

That solved it for me. It is also a fix I´ve previously used for other issues where there has appeared to be a problem  with credentials in an Apple related app.

Since it is 5 years later, and pretty much everything has changed, it would be a good idea for you to write out your issue. What exactly are you attempting to do, and what happens when you try to do it?
