Refresh or Turn On/Off USB Ports

Hi there,

I am working on an art installation. I am using an up to date MacBook Pro, the one with dual thunderbolts.

Anyways, I have a Matrox Triple Head 2 Go video splitter for these projectors.

For the past 3 years it works fine. Now about every week it freezes up. If I unlug the USB an plug it back in everything is fine again.

Thing is, I can't always get up to the roof.

I need a way to remotely do this. To remotely power cycle the unit. That is where I need help.

I tried connecting the splitter to a USB hub. Then I connected that to an IP Managed power switch. This did not do it since the USB hub could operate without the external power supply.

Next, I thought about a managed USB hub. Waaay too expensive.

So, I was curious about how to refresh the USB port via software. I can remotely log in so anything that could happen over TeamViewer is up for grabs. Any ideas?
