Ghost Directory Won't Delete

I made a directory called ResumeOct17 in finder and added a file into it. Finder froze up and the window completely bugged out. I just closed finder and reopened it. Deleted the directory from the subfolder and made it again. As soon as I put the resume pdf back in the new folder named the same thing it bugged out again. Now as it stands I cannot make a folder named ResumeOct17 and with the files resume.pdf and resume.zip inside without having Finder freeze.

I then tried to clear and delete the directory from terminal and this happens:

So "everything" is deleted from the file and the ls command comes up empty but rmdir won't run because it still sees something in the directory anyway.

And this is what happens to finder when it stops acting normally. The entire picture is the window.

If someone else has run into a problem like this or could help me out that'd be great.

try

ls -al

(shows hidden files as well.)

I have never seen Finder wig out like that based on what is in a directory. I think you have a different problem, maybe graphics problems.
