Apple Watch, WatchOS 4.0 interferes w/ bluetooth

Apple Watch, series 2, WatchOS 4.0, iPhone IOS 11.0.2.

When using Bluetooth to connect to my car's audio system, the watch tries to control the music on my car player. The watch is not paired to my car. The watch will show a song it's trying to play, this song will appear on the car radio, but cannot be controlled by anything other than the watch.

Hi

The Now Playing app can be configured to be shown automatically on Apple Watch upon raising your wrist when playing supported media on your iPhone. This is the default setting.

To turn this feature off:

  • On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Wake Screen > turn off Auto-Launch Audio Apps.

The music is playing from your iPhone, not the watch.  Your watch is allowing you to control the music playing from your iPhone.
