My family uses family sharing. I have found out that all of the purchases are charged to the family organiser.

It is my understanding that if I buy an iTunes gift card, then my I will only use the credit from that card.

Is a purchase made via gift card shared to the family? Will they be able to download that purchase?

A long as your balance covers the total price of the item, if it doesn't the excess will be charged to the organiser's card.
