If I buy a new macPro can I buy El capitan?

I am looking to buy a new Mac Pro from Apple, but the guy there says it will come with High Sierra.

Is it possible to install with El Capitan when it arrives? where do I get it from?

Everything is stable with Logic and my other software and hardware with El Capitan.

Many thanks for any help

I always keep all the OS installers as once new ones are released the old ones vanished.

An old trick is to clone from your El Capitan machine to your MacPro and then re-apply the combo OS updater.

It usually does the trick as the Mac Pro hardware hasn't changed for a number of years.

Actually did 2 erase and installs from my El Capitan USB key installer just this weekend.

In order to downgrade your Apple computer it needs to be a model that was in production at the time the OS was publicly distributed. If you buy a "new" Mac Pro which has not changed in price or hardware upgrade options since December 19, 2013 then you can run El Capitan provided:

a) own it in your App Store account

or

b) have already downloaded it and can make a bootable instance of it

Create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support

If you do not already own it then it is no longer legally obtainable from Apple. If you do own it you will need to install on a clean partition or clean drive, you can not install on top of a later instance of OS X.
