Very high power usage in High Sierra?

I have a MacBook Pro with Touch Bar 2016. Since using High Sierra, all apps are using a large amount of energy.

In activity monitor apps are peaking from anything from 20,000 to 100,000.

I have had 2 genius appointments and a stress test, and they just say it passes their tests, and the battery is fine.

In the real world my battery is draining faster than it should and I am seeing ridiculous power readings.

It almost feels that they are ignoring the real issue.

I asked them to show me it happening on a different MacBook and they were all fine.

Here is an example. It is not just Safari that it happens on, it is all stock apps.

I have tried clean installs, and have run out of ideas.

When I change the display on the activity monitor it seems to show the WindowServer as the culprit.

Try reseting SMC. Choose the method for “If the battery is non-removable”.

Hi Dominic, I have previously tried resetting the SMC, but thought I would give it ago as I have not done it since the Mac was wiped. Unfortunately this had no effect. It is hard to tell if the SMC was actually reset though. I did hold the buttons down for over 10 seconds.

Here is a screen shot taken just minutes ago. I have also previously reset the NVRAM and PRAM.

Over the last month it has had High Sierra put back on by myself and the apple store.
