i live in spain but want my itunes in english

i am new to ipad 2 and i live in spain but i want my itunes to be able to download english songs and films

Change the language:  Tap Settings > General > International

Be aware you can only purchase iTunes media using a debit or credit card associated the country where they were originally setup.

Carolyn's suggestion of changing the language in your iPad has absolutely nothing to do with what languages content is offered in from the iTunes Store.

You can only purchase music and movies from the iTunes Store where you are located. If the Spanish Store does not have the English language music and movies you want there is little you can do about it.

If you have a credit card and billing address in an English speaking country, you can create an iTunes Store account for that country and have access to it's movie and music offerings.

However, Apple states in the iTunes Store Terms and Conditions that it may use technical measure to prevent users from downloading Store content from countries they are not physically located in.

It's all to do with the licensing of music and movies for each country. Not all music and movies are licensed for sale in all countries - this is down to the music and movie studios - not Apple.

Very true but very frustrating for expats indeed.

This is a law that needs to be challenged as it is out dated. We have nationals from countries that are simply passing through other countries or for example studying in other countries for short period. Language berries mean they are forced to look for pirate material as originals are not made available to them in my opinion. Hopefully there will be more modern ways to license material in the future that will benefit creators, artists, resellers and of course users.
