Outlook becomes very very slow in Sierra(10.12.3)

Not able to view any of the mails after upgrading to 10.12.3 as outlook is very slow.

My outlook version is 15.30

I have just updated to Mac High Sierra 10.13 and have Outlook 15.38, and notice that Outlook is sluggish in performing tasks such as moving between folders and when you click the red cross to close it even spins the beachball for a few secs before doing so. Never did that prior to the High Sierra update.
