Apple Music in iOS 10 losing place when playing...

There are a few things I like about the new Apple Music, but more that I don't.

I load up an album or two (or a playlist) and start playing it. I pause for a while, and either the current song resets to 0:00 or -- much more annoying -- some random group of songs replaces the ones that were going to play next.

Have others experienced this being much worse in iOS 10 than it was before?

Bump

I have the same problem amongst others with this version of the app.

This has just started happening to me.  I will stop listening to music, come back to the app a half hour later and find that it has now queued up my entire library (it seems to be all songs shuffled).  I will then need to re-do my earlier search, re-queue the songs/album and remember where I was.

I did learn a neat trick recently to see what was recently played.  Open Messages, start a "pretend" text and hit the new "Apps" icon.  You can then see the recently played tracks in Apple Music.

Some times entire albums repeat. Some times the first song shows up in the play next while it's still playing.

Some times it actually works correctly.

However it always clears the "up next" list completly when paused for a long time.

Some times the "window" just disappears when selected like it crashed, but did not.

I don't think I've actually seen a COMPLETELY random song (never been selected before).

It hasn't crashed like "up next" on iOS 9.3.5 somtimes did when dragging selections.

Tyce

It's a year later and I'm using iOS 11, but I have the same problem. In my case I want Apple Music to shuffle my entire library when connected to my car sound system via Bluetooth, but frustratingly it usually AT LEAST reverts to the beginning of the last song that was playing when I last turned the car off. Most of the time it also loses the previous "shuffle" altogether and starts over, often cycling through a lot of the same tracks I've heard recently again.

Part of the problem is that when connecting to the car speaker, it automatically starts the last audio app that was used--but I listen to a lot of podcasts around the house, whereas most of the time I want music in the car! So if I don't remember to open up Music and let a song play for a second before starting the car so that's the most recent app, it will most likely start playing Podcasts and then all hope is lost of picking up at the correct spot/song when I go back to Music.
