When I enable the Keyboard viewer to trouble shoot the keyboard, I find that for all of the keys produce a noise except for the 4 that do not function. Does the keyboard need a repair?

Keyboards in generally, can not be repaired.

If you are missing a row of keys, then you will most likely need to replace the keyboard.

FWIW you can use most any generic bluetooth w/dongle or USB keyboard with your Mac, until you can get that one checked out and/or replaced.
