You said you performed the four steps shown under "Get Help" in this article:

Use your Smart Keyboard with iPad Pro - Apple Support

Did you also perform the first part of the "Get Help" section?

"... Make sure there's no debris or plastic covering on the Smart Connector pins on the keyboard or the Smart Connector on the iPad Pro."

hi bro!! I had been trying many time above instruction by apple .

I had this problem start up when Apple issued the latest update 10.12.3. It was intermitten. Called apple support and we tried numerous "fixes"; turning blur tooth on and off, rebooting, etc. Finally, the last suggestion was to restored the system. Took a couple of days to do this. They wanted the keyboard serial number. Finally found the SN on the box. Because my iPad was still under AppleCare, they finally agreed to swap it out. The new keyboard works great. Apple knows it's a problem. Call them.

Literally every forum I have seen on this topic has been met with the same first response: some apple employee copying and pasting the troubleshooting steps from their online manual. Those manuals are already online and easily accessible and everyone who comes to a forum is now looking for further help. I have had an ipod since the first ipod came out and all I can say is that as apple has increased in size, they have decreased that amount they care about their customers. It's a shame that a patch comes out with a major bug that disables the smart keyboard (a hefty purchase from apple btw) and instead of taking responsibility and saying a fix is on the way, they decide to instruct their employees to point their customers into thinking they might of done something wrong and to restart their device. I wish polls could be taken on this site so we could reveal how unhelpful and useless these responses really are.

Actually, I am not, and never have been, an Apple employee.

This is absolutely incorrect.  Many folks asking questions here have not seen any of the online material.

That is also absolutely incorrect.  If it were correct, all the folks using smart keyboards would have them disabled once they updated software, which is certainly not the case.

I would like to see a poll about responses full of incorrect information, and the value they provide (positive or negative).
