Apple ID with an old email no longer in use

Hello,

Thank you in advance for any assistance that can be provided for this issue I am having.

My Iphone has started asking me to enter the "password" for an Apple ID email address that I have not used in many years. How can I stop this from happening, and how do I delete this email address so this will stop happening.

It is literally popping up within seconds over and over again. I have tried "slide to shut phone down" and it did not work. I try to "log out" in ICloud, but before it can do that it needs the "password" for the email that should not be associated with this account at all.

I am not sure where to delete this "other" email that should not be on my account anywhere at this time.

If you still have access to that e-mail account, enter your Apple (iCloud) ID and click Forgot Password.
