iOS iMessage text box disappears when split scr...

On my iPad,when I split screen to text my friends,almost everytime I do it,the text box disappears and I always have to fix it by exiting the conversation and go back to it

Also,sometimes the send button)blue arrow) doesn't work so I have to again exit the conversation and retype everything I was about to send which takes a lot of time

Is the bug from iOS 10.3.3 or does my IPad Air 2 have a problem?
