Why are Apple Stores so unwelcoming?

I just want to tell someone how horrible my experience was at Apple store in Brea mall in Brea, California USA today. 

 

 

I walked in to purchase a MacBook for my wife. She wanted a rose gold MacBook the latest revision with 1.4GHz dual-core 7th gen intel core i7 processor turbo boost up to 3.6GHz with 16GB 1866MHz LPDDR3 memory.

 

 

the rep that we waited for told us they don't make the MacBook with 16GB or memory.  I told him i was sure apple did.  he said he was certain they did not.

He then checked and confirmed apple in fact does offer it.

 

 

He then asked what are we going to be using it for? We told him and he said we don't need 16GB that the 8 is good enough.  

 

 

really?...

 

 

I'm telling you what i want.

 

 

He then said we should buy a MacBook pro  we didn't want that. We wanted what we wanted.  If I felt like buying 10 iPhone X's just to prop up a candle on my shelf next to my iPhone 4 then let me do that.

 

Oh and i forgot to mention the guy said very sarcastically oh you're just here to buy a MacBook.  so convenient.   I didn't like his condescending tone and I felt belittled and offended.  

This is the final nail for me.

 

I will never buy another apple product as long as I live.

what a horrible unpleasant experience.  and of course there's no formal channel to complain to apple or a way to email the store specifically.

Sounds like a crummy experience with an individual, but don't throw out the baby.... well, you know.

 

Personally, I would return and ask a staff manager to request the Store Manager, especially if I noted the individual 's  Name, or could give a good description.   Most managers are going to want to correct poor service. I would suggest  to have your concerns heard in the best light you address your issues objectively, especially on how the experience made you feel, being honest,  but avoid over dramatizing with statements like "I'll never..., worst ever.....".  

 

Otherwise, you can always their corporate number at 408-996-1010.   Wait for the operator, and state you wish to speak to someone regarding poor treatment at a retail store.  You will certainly get a response.
