iTunes 12.6.2 wont update?

Hello.

I got prompted to update to iTunes 12.6.2 today. Unfortunately,when I click "download",I get redirected to Apple's web page for the standalone .exe file.Apple software update is still stuck on itunes 12.6.1 too.Anyone else?

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later - Apple Support

Then just use the installer you downloaded to do a clean install. The contents of your library is unaffected by uninstalling.

I also have this problem. itunes 12.6.1.25

never mind, it updated after clicking on “purchases” then clicking “updates” in app store.

It is not uncommon for the website to get updated before the feed that is used by Apple Software Update.

I had the same problem.  The iTunes update took a long time to download and then it took my Mac Book Pro completely down.  I called 800 APL CARE and they basically were not able to help me.  I had an appointment at the local Genius Bar set up but I then went through some steps on my own and reinstated Sierra.  This all took hours but I have personally fixed the problem and am back up and running.  Not a confidence builder. 

I had a similar issue. No matter how many times I tried within the app store to update it would not. Just downloaded iTunes from apple.com and it worked.

I tried several times to update and I am redirected to an apple download website that has me enter my email address and apple password then it proceeds to download and halfway in between it states that my system is not working and to contact support. I have always been able to download upgrades right on my itunes webpage and it is not working. Must be a bug. Not sure. It is frustrating because I just received my apple Iphone 8 plus and I cannot upgrade or sync the phone. The phone is activated and ready for use. Just does not show up on my device in itunes.
