How do I lock my screen for iCloud backup?

I’m new. How do I “lock” my screen for an iCloud backup?

When you plug your device in, and it has a Wifi connection, it will automatically go to the "Lock" screen - the one with the time in large letters, and your wallpaper.

So, basically, you just have to make sure it has a Wifi connection, and that it is plugged in and left alone for a bit.

The only thing that would prevent that from happening is if you had the Auto Lock feature set to "Never", which would mean your Home screen would never go off.

You can also just tap the power button if you don't want to wait.

Note that if you use an alarm clock that keeps the screen awake overnight, your device will not back up.
