How do you find a vanished note?

I had my iPad Air notes app open and the iPad was falling and I grabbed it to prevent it from hitting the floor. The note that was open had disappeared. All other notes were there. I thought I had deleted it accidentally. My notes is synced to my email (yahoo) and I went there and found my notes folder. All notes are there except the one I had open. I searched all emails but nothing. I then downloaded recovery software and ran it. Again all notes were found except the one that disappeared. It is as if it had never existed. Can anyone shed light on what could have happened and where it can be found.
