my imac won't boot up

when it starts, the status bar gets to 66% ish then it switches itself off. Any help gratefully appreciated

First try resetting the PRAM, if that does not work, try resetting in Safe Mode and then restart normally. PRAM reset instructions are in iMac SMC and PRAM reset

If neither work, please post back.
