13" Mid

This question is in regards to the mid-2010 MacBook Pro 13" or MacBookPro7,1

I am preparing to gig with my acoustic duo and am planning on using a couple programs for backing tracks and vocal effects. I am soldering together a TRRS>TR/TRS for microphone input and output to my mixer/PA.

The only thing that I can't find information on is what impedance the input and output should be for the mic and output. I already plan on having to build a small enclosure for impedance matching the very low impedance headphone out to my preamp in the mixer but am unsure as to what the values need to be at the MacBook Pro input.

Also, will I be able to choose line level input or will I be stuck with "mic" input, like the EarPods do?

Thanks ahead of time, everyone!

P.S. I will purchase a firewire or USB multi-channel mixer in the future but I am very strapped for cash for a few months and am looking for a fun "DIY" way to do this in the mean time.

Mac input is a LINE level input, like a tape player or DVD player. A "bare" microphone or phonograph input cannot produce levels high enough for the Mac to detect them. You must have a pre-amplifier.

The headphone output is NOT LINE level, and its impedance used to be included in the specs for your specific MacBook Pro model, but I could not find it listed in the spec. It does appear to have alternate digital optical out, available when used with the appropriate optical connector.
