Cancelling sync from iTunes to iPod touch

Hi,

I recently updated iTunes and now I am unable to sync between iTunes and my iPod Touch. Seems as if most times carries out an update, this problem rears its head.

I have looked at previous forums on this, but none of these help.

Any ideas please?
