when I updated my iwatch started to fail to rec...

Hi Jonathan when I updated my iwatch started to fail to record fitness correctly, I've had my watch returned to them then received it back stating that there is nothing wrong with it, but I run recently ran 10k=6.2 miles but my watch said 6 miles *** this is meant to be a premium fitness watch, spoke to apple guy really nice but said it's a software issue and that the new update should fix it. Sorry but not good enough if thinking of paying top dollar maybe look else where as the apple support package just not good enough.

For the most accurate results, be sure to record specific fitness activities as workouts using the Workout app (or a third-party app that shares data to the Health app) and to choose the activity type that most closely matches your workout (including choosing Other for workouts that are neither included within nor sufficiently similar to those in the main list). This enables Apple Watch to use the most appropriate sensors and data sources for that activity type when tracking results.

If distance estimations are currently inaccurate, then it may help to calibrate your Apple Watch, resetting your existing calibration data and starting afresh.

Be sure to calibrate for at least 20 minutes at each of the speeds at which you typically walk, jog and/or run (this does not need to be done all at once, for any given speed) and to follow all of the other instructions here:

Activity-related estimations also depend, in part, on your personal information. It may help to check that this is accurate:

• On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Health > Edit - tap and adjust items, then tap on Done.

When using the Workout app to record workouts, if GPS data is either not relevant or not available, the Activity app and Workout app track your arm motion (measured by the accelerometer) when estimating results. For the best results, allow the arm on which you are wearing your watch to swing naturally when running - in the same way as it was during calibration.
