Apple Watch 2 going crazy

The last 6 to 8 weeks my Apple Watch 2 has begun constantly activating apps and features all by itself.  The worst was Siri...so bad, I had to turn Siri off in my phone.  However, I can be sitting still and the wallet app pops up.  Then the activity app starts.  Then I click the crown to close it and return to the home screen and it won't close the app.  It just freezes.  I've checked for updates and restarted it too many times.  It's so annoying and most of the time, I have to "lock" the Watch to keep it from draining my battery.  Help!!  What is going on???

Hi

The following steps may help:

  • Install any available app updates (via the App Store app on your iPhone).

  • Clean the Digital Crown:
    • The symptoms that you have described may, in part, be consistent with your Apple Watch believing that the Digital Crown has been pressed and held down when you have not done so.
    • Operation of the Digital Crown can be affected by substances like dust. It may help to clean it by following the steps here:
    • Use the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

  • Unpair and re-pair your Apple Watch:
    • The Watch app on your iPhone takes a backup of your watch automatically when unpairing via the app.
    • Initially choose to Restore from Backup during set up (most data and settings will be restored, with some exceptions, such as Apple Pay cards, passcode).
    • If the issue persists, try unpairing and setting up as a new watch, monitoring performance as you add third party apps and/or watch face complications back to your Apple Watch.
    • Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone - Apple Support
    • Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support

If the issue then persists, I suggest that you contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available, if required), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider with a view to having your watch checked and, if recommended, serviced (whether under warranty, if eligible, or via chargeable repair service):
