Windows Keyboard and VMware Fusion

How can I get my iMac to behave like a split personality between OS X and Windows 7 via VMwave Fusion?

I am using a Windows keyboard in both environments, as I depend on the placement of the keys for shortcuts such as (ctrl-c, v, f, p, ctrl + shift + up/down arrows), etc).

My problem is that I cannot get to use the "ctrl" botton successfully in both environments.  I can either use it in either or by switching in system preferences -> keyboard -> modifier keys -> for "control" ->  switching back the option between "command" for OS 7 and "control" for Windows 7.

A million thanks for saving me from reverting back to a PC!

You probably should be posting this question on a Fusion forum, most users on these forums don't use it or Windows.

thank you for the advice

The OS X Command key on a Windows keyboard is the Windows LOGO key. So in Windows you use Ctrl + those other keys and in OS X you use Command ( Not Ctrl) + those other keys. On your Windows key board in Windows Ctrl + c copies. In OS X on the Windows keyboard you use Win Logo + c for copy.

Hi Lavi,

Did you get a solution for this ? I have mapped Shift key as Ctrl key for Windows on VMware Fusion.

I could not find how to use Ctrl and Control both functioning similarly.
