Continuing Startup Crashes on iMac 5K

Hello Wonderfull Fellow iMac Users,

As can be seen in my hardware and software info provided, upon startup I get continuing crashes where computer chimes displaying for a brief moment the following:

panic(cpu 6 caller 0xfffffff792450a83): "dassert failed: /BuildRoot/Library/Cached/com.apple.xbs/Sources/CoreStorage-540.30.1/core/btree _impl   etc.....

HID: Legacy shim 2

Debugger called: <panic>

Backtrace (CPU 6) Frame : Return Address

System chimes and shuts down and Repeats slightly the same info and then restarts again and again.

My best guess is that this is due to an Application that was running called "HandsOff" that was preventing

certain applications from "contacting" security as each of those apps can be seen on down in the code string.

I've tried restarting the iMac using every key command I know at startup with no success.

I'm connected to the internet via Airport Extreme 2 TB Time Capsule.

My sincere thanks in advance to all who have the time to respond.

Kenn Bird

Among other processes, CoreStorage informs your Mac there is information about a logical volume that needs to be read before mounting it. This is often the case for Fusion Drives. Does your iMac come equipped with one? Is so, there may be an issue with mounting it that is causing the Kernel Panic.

Can you please post the entire kernel panic report

Kernel Panic reports: Finder -> Go -> Go to Folder -> /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports

<https://support.apple.com/kb/ht2546>

<https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT200553>

The panic report should have "panic" in the file name.

If there is more than one, please post a couple of the most recent so we can see if there is a pattern.

Also as a separate reply

Please post the EtreCheck output as a "Reply" to this thread

<https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6174> or <https://etrecheck.com>

Use the EtreCheck "Share" button to "Copy to clipboard" (See the image below)

If, AND ONLY IF, you get the error:

    "The message contains invalid characters"

then try posting to PasteBin.com, and give us a PasteBin URL link.

.

EtreCheck is a tool that helps Apple Support Community volunteers debug problems without any access to the troubled computers. Debugging problems can be a difficult task even when the machine is in front of you. Attempting it via a discussion forum is extremely difficult. EtreCheck is a great help that regards.
