MacBook Pro (early

Hi all,

So I recently purchased a SSD to replace my old hard drive and I've come across a few issues.

In the process of installing the OS (Sierra) onto the SSD (internally), I came across my initial issue of my inability to Erase the memory of the SSD for formatting in Dism Utility. This issue was resolved by utilizing a friends MBP who had a late 2011 model. Which brings up my first question of SATA cable and compatability with SATA 3 SSDs.

My next issue came after installing the OS into my SSD, through my friends MBP, and utilizing it in mine. When booting up, my MBP was unable to... boot up, being stuck in the loading screen with 0% completion. This was the initial issue. However, when I restarted my computer, I came across a new issue: there would be a continuous prompt by the OS for admin name and pswrd as the laptop loaded. Clicking cancel would restart the loading process and the cycle would continue from there.

Based on my situation I would like to ask a few things:

Would replacing my SATA cable with a new one have any effect on compatability with my SSD? And is there a "different" SATA cable required to provide compatability?
