Photos location not working

Hi, I just bought a new iPad and im trying to transfer the photos I have from my macbook, but the location is not prompt in the top of the camera roll or any other album. I've tried saving them on iCloud, Google Photos, etc and then saving them on the camera roll, but the location is not showing up. I also connected it to iTunes and it didn't work either. Thanks!
